After leaving a message at her door, a mother made the unsettling discovery that her neighbor had been “stalking” her.
The woman, who is married and has children, wrote on Reddit that one day she arrived home to discover a handwritten note with the letters “HMU”—which stands for “hit me up”—and a phone number.
She chose to text the number with a picture of the note, thinking it might be from a friend she had lost contact with.
“Goodnight,” was all that the unidentified caller had to say.
The mother retorted, “Are you going to tell me who this is or be scared, lol?”

Then, the messages became eerie, making the mother feel as though she had been lately watched or followed.
“You can not go anywhere without your man counting your steps, so do not be afraid,” the recipient replied via text.
“In any case, do not worry; you will not be harmed.”
The individual then requested that she get in touch again when she was by herself and free to choose for herself.
Puzzled, she pushed the visitor to identify themselves and inquired as to why they could not simply talk.
Before she told them she could speak, the anonymous number asked, “Are you able to speak for yourself, or do you have your babysitter with you?”

The woman said she did not know a Robert when he revealed his name was Robert and inquired whether she had an OnlyFans.
By using a reverse number search, she was able to identify him and discover that he was her “weird” neighbor, who was twice her age.
She posted on the site, “Yes, I realize it was stupid to message this number, but I honestly assumed it had to be a close friend because only they know where I live.”
“By reverse searching the number, we were able to find the stalker’s identity and address. Our f***ing neighbor is him.

The fact that the man must have waited for her and her boyfriend to leave the house before dropping by and leaving the message particularly unnerved her.
She remarked, “He obviously observes us taking our children to school, walking our dogs, and just hanging out like a peeping Tom.” “We have spoken with authorities and shared all of our information with them.”
She responded, “I will be,” to a commenter’s warning to “be careful.” I could not sleep because I am so terrified. What worries me the most is that he is aware of when we depart.
She has ordered a doorstep camera since the experience so she can monitor any odd behavior.
